The best way to get downloads for your App

100-Day Marketing Challenge

The Part-time Solopreneur

Almost every business can increase sales by getting more eyes on the product by increasing traffic to the landing page.

Most independent developers don't have the budget and skills to use paid ads. So, the solution is content marketing.

How to start?

Pick one social platform where your audience hangs out online.

Do not ignore your skill set.
If you are good at writing: LinkedIn, X, or Reddit will be a better choice than TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.

If you know how to create videos and like that, good for you - short-form videos will be the easiest way to start.

If you are just starting and don't have an audience, start with comments.

Find influencers in your niche on your platform of choice, then engage with content. Reddit comments could be a good place to start a discussion about your product as well.
For example:
When you see discussions about problems you solve, plug in comments like: "Any reason why you are not using X (your app) vs Y (current solution). X is way better if you want/don't want (your differentiator, unique selling point).

Do't be spammy, provide value in comments and you will grow your following.
Spend 100 minutes per day engaging and writing high value(!) comments.

Start creating original content.

As soon as you get into the habit of daily writing, start creating original content. After spending time in comments, you already have a taste of what type of content you like and what will resonate with your target audience.

Start spending 100 minutes per day creating content.

Do this for 100 days in a row and your following on the chosen platform will grow significantly and you will multiply your sales.

So, here is a challenge for you:

Block time in your callendar to have 100 minutes in a day for content creation and stick with it for 100 days.

Track your following, App downloads, and sales numbers to see the progress.

I'm startign today. This email were my first 40 minutes of the challenge.

Bonus tip: Fix your social profile

Don't be smart of funny in your social profile description, just say what is your product or service and add links to it.

For example, in most of my profiles I have link to the Indie Dev Accelerator because most of my content is about mobile app business and this is product for everyone who want to start doing the same.

That's it for today, next time I will write how to create good content.
