Indie DevLog revenue update - August

Indie DevLog update - August

The Part-time Solopreneur

Apple is always late with data processing, but I see an extra $113 sales from the last 24 hours. So that means I'm at about $4'493 in sales this month.

August wasn't the best month, but not bad as well and I mostly blame my pricing experiments for not hitting $5K in sales this month.

I covered all the details in the workshop for the Indie Dev Accelerator members, but in short - weekly subscriptions can help to bump monthly recurring revenue. However, my sales and conversion went down because of the experiments with a weekly paywall.

I'm still waiting to see if sales will recover after the end of the experiment, but the conversion rate looks promising.

I will write a more detailed update on this paywall experiment and perhaps will do a YouTube video as well, but the results are clear, weekly subscriptions do not work for my Apps.

My goal is to keep clients happy and earn enough money to be able to keep working on my own apps and share insights with you. Weekly subscribers are short-term users or a few who do not read the carefully paywall and hit confirm on the lowest number even if that is not the best offer.
I don't want to trick customers into more expensive subscriptions and hope that they will stay with it because forgot to cancel, so I'm happy that this experiment failed.

I collected enough data for the next paywall training and can go back to my regular offer with a yearly subscription.

That's it for today. Keep shipping 🚀
